Adding staff to the schedule after the schedule has been posted without an opportunity available may only be granted with leader approval. Leader should encourage their staff to pick up open opportunities in UKG first before requesting manual changes from CT&S.
Changes to the schedule that need be made within 24 to 48 hours need to go through the Central
Staffing Office.
Beginning November 19th, Cornerstone SBX (formerly SABA) courses will automatically be added to the schedule in UKG for enrolled employees. Courses will appear in the schedule in a rolling 90-day window, courses scheduled further out than 90 days will appear in UKG once in the 90-day window. UKG will be updated from Cornerstone hourly to ensure correct information and reporting.
Staff are able to make edits to shifts selected when self-scheduling through UKG.
To avoid selecting the wrong shift when self scheduling, employees are able to filter available shifts in UKG to only show day or night shifts.
Employees should submit all PTO requests in UKG. Requests will be reviewed and responded to within UKG.
Employees in departments utilizing UKG Advanced Scheduling are able to self schedule shifts to meet their FTE within UKG.
Effective November 5th, 2025; UKG will show “Preceptor Pay Qualified” or “PPQ” under skills and certifications for employees who have completed the Preceptor course through CED and are eligible for Preceptor Pay Incentive.
Starting Jan. 23, UKG will include a new informational notification to help employees request time off.
This update gives visibility into days when departments are seeing a high number of PTO and off-block requests. While not a guarantee of approval or denial, it’s a helpful tool for planning — choosing a day with fewer requests may increase the likelihood staff requests are approved.
Effective November 23rd, inpatient nursing employees covered by Centralized Timekeeping and Scheduling will need to self-schedule in UKG to meet their required FTE.
