Adding Employees to the Schedule After Schedules have been Posted

After the schedule is posted, staff should be added to the schedule in the following order: 

  • 1: Staff pick up open opportunities in UKG 

    • Exception: Travelers do not have the ability to pick up additional shifts over their FTE. Leader approval is required.  

  • 2: There are no open opportunities on the schedule 

    • If there is a shortage of open opportunities, CT&S will verify that the shift is not already fully staffed. In the event that the shift is not already fully staffed and is missing an opportunity, CT&S will add an opportunity to the schedule for the employee to pick up. 

  • 3: Additional opportunities are needed 

    • If the requested shift is already fully staffed and the leader wishes to request additional opportunities to be posted, causing them to show as overstaffed- justification is required. Director approval may be required.  

It is important that staff pick up opportunities within UKG for extra shift tracking purposes and to reduce the amount of manual corrections required by leaders and CT&S.
