Preceptor Pay

Effective November 5th, 2025; UKG will show “Preceptor Pay Qualified” or “PPQ” under skills and certifications for employees who have completed the Preceptor course through CED and are eligible for Preceptor Pay Incentive.

Preceptor process for employees:

  • Complete WBT285: Preceptor Expectations & Policy available in Cornerstone SBX (formerly SABA)

    • Upon completion UKG will show “Preceptor Pay Qualified” in the skills and certifications section for 1 year

    • Employee can now be scheduled to Precept

  • To maintain eligibility employees must complete two in-person Preceptor Fellowship courses within 12 months per HR 5036 MUHC Preceptor Pay Policy

    • Courses: “Precepting and Challenges” and “Insight and Feedback”

    • Upon completion of those two courses UKG will remove the 1-year expiration date

  • If the employee is unable to complete both required in-person courses within a year, the certification will show as expired in UKG, making the employee ineligible to receive preceptor pay. Once an employee completes both in-person courses, UKG will again display “Preceptor Pay Qualified” in the skills and certifications section.

When needed, an employee may be scheduled as a preceptor even if they have not completed all course requirements, however they will not be eligible to receive preceptor pay unless “Preceptor Pay Qualified” is listed under skills and certifications in UKG.
