Enrolling in a Canvas Catalog course with a provided URL

Register for a Catalog course with either a Catalog homepage URL that has a list of course offerings or an enrollment link directly to a particular Canvas Catalog course's enrollment page.

Catalog homepage URL

1. Refer to the information provided to you to search for the course listing.
2. Select the desired course.

3. Select the blue Enroll button (See Fig. 2).

4. If you are a UM System user you will log in with your UM System credentials. If you are not a UM System user you will need to create, activate and verify your account.
5. After completing step 4 (if needed), return to the Catalog home page.
   • If the course has a registration fee, you will be prompted to pay first. After a complete transaction, you will be redirected back to Catalog. 
   • Click the Return to Catalog option.
6. Select your Name at the top-right corner of the page and then choose Student Dashboard.
7. Find your course and select Begin Course. This is a key step to make sure your enrollment is synced into Canvas.

Catalog direct course link

If you are provided with a direct link to the Canvas Catalog course, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Enrollment Link (given to you by the course instructor) to access the course enrollment page. 
2. Select the blue Enroll button (See Fig. 3).

3. If you are a UM System user you will log in with your UM System credentials. If you are not a UM System user you will need to create, activate and verify your account.
4. After completing step 3 (if needed), return to the link that you were provided.
   • If the course has a registration fee, you will be prompted to pay first. After a complete transaction, you will be redirected back to Catalog. 
   • Select Return to Catalog.
5. Select your Name at the top right corner and then choose Student Dashboard.
6. Find your course and select Begin Course. This is a key step to make sure your enrollment is synced into Canvas.
