Question
How do I connect an Android Device to TigerWiFi?
Answer
Note: If you are unable to connect, try using the DOMAIN\username format in the Identity field. (The domain for most campus students, faculty, and staff will be UM-AD\ and most hospital students, faculty, and staff will use the UMHS-USERS\ domain.)
- Go to Apps/Settings.
- Click Wi-Fi.
- Turn on Wi-Fi.
- Choose TigerWiFi from the list.
- For EAP choose PEAP.
- For Phase 2 authentication choose MSCHAPV2.
- For CA certificate:
- If the device is running Android 7 (a.k.a. Nougat) or newer, choose Do not validate.
- Otherwise, choose (unspecified).
- Leave Anonymous Identity blank.
- For Identity, type the SSO (your University username).
- For Password, type your University password.
- For newer devices running Android 8 or later, select the Advanced menu.
- Change from Randomly Assign MAC Address to Use MAC Address of this device.
- Click Connect.
Note: If you are disconnected after 60 seconds of being logged into Tiger WiFi, follow these steps to disable MAC Address Randomization in Android 10:
- Open the Settings app.
- Select Network and Internet.
- Select WiFi.
- Connect to the UT wireless network (UT Open or EDUROAM)
- Tap the gear icon next to the current WiFi connection.
- Select Advanced.

- Select Use device MAC to the value.
