Connect an Android Device to TigerWiFi

Question

How do I connect an Android Device to TigerWiFi?

Answer

Note: If you are unable to connect, try using the DOMAIN\username format in the Identity field. (The domain for most campus students, faculty, and staff will be UM-AD\ and most hospital students, faculty, and staff will use the UMHS-USERS\ domain.)

  1. Go to Apps/Settings.
  2. Click Wi-Fi.
  3. Turn on Wi-Fi.
  4. Choose TigerWiFi from the list.
  5. For EAP choose PEAP.
  6. For Phase 2 authentication choose MSCHAPV2.
  7. For CA certificate:
  • If the device is running Android 7 (a.k.a. Nougat) or newer, choose Do not validate.
  • Otherwise, choose (unspecified).
  1. Leave Anonymous Identity blank.
  2. For Identity, type the SSO (your University username).
  3. For Password, type your University password.
  4. For newer devices running Android 8 or later, select the Advanced menu.
