Devices Not Supported on TigerWiFi

Issue

Device not supported on TigerWiFi.

Resolution

Use an Ethernet adapter or obtain a device that supports WPA2-Enterprise encryption required by TigerWiFi.

Ethernet Compatible

These devices have a wired Ethernet option available that is the preferred method for connecting to the network.

Please check at The Mizzou Store to purchase these adapters. The (adapter information) links below are to the manufacturer and provide the part numbers needed for the correct adapter.

  • Sony PlayStation
  • Microsoft Xbox: has built-in Ethernet
  • Nintendo Wii / Wii U: (adapter information)
  • Nintendo Switch: (adapter information)
  • Amazon Fire TV: has built-in Ethernet (instructions)
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick: requires two adapters
  • Apple TV: has built-in Ethernet
  • Roku
    • Roku 4: has built-in Ethernet
    • Roku 3: has built-in Ethernet
    • Roku 2: has built-in Ethernet
  • some Smart TVs
  • some DVD players
  • some BluRay players
Cause

Most consumer electronics cannot connect to TigerWiFi because they were not designed to support the WPA2-Enterprise security that is required by TigerWiFi. TigerWiFi is funded and designed to be used for academic and business purposes only.

The following devices do not support use of TigerWiFi:
