The Gallup Employee Engagement Survey is an independent tool used to measure employee engagement and give employees an opportunity to identify MU Health Care’s strengths and opportunities as a workplace. The Gallup survey uses a standard 12-question (The Q12) set to establish engagement values that MU Health Care measures against other hospital systems as well as the global data collected by Gallup. There will also be specific questions about job roles to better understand the specific demands on teams and departments.
Once the survey window closes Gallup collects and groups results to give departments and leaders an idea of the opportunities for improvement and how to celebrate successes. Once leaders have their results, they should take time to discuss with their teams. MU Health Care encourages teams to develop “Just One Thing” to improve upon based on their team data. Teams should commit to taking measurable action based on the feedback provided.

Your confidential results are available in your personal, secure Gallup profile.
Share departmental/unit results with the team at a staff meeting or huddle. Thank the team for taking time to provide you with honest feedback about their experience as a MUHC employee. Commit to taking measurable action based on their feedback. Ask if this is an accurate reflection of their experience/how they feel. Has anything changed since the survey? Is there anything else that could be missing for context?
After reviewing the data as a team, lead the discussion on what single action item will be most impactful to focus on together. Remember, the team and not the leader, identifies what to focus on and the plan on how to execute it.
As a team, decide how often you will revisit the action plan (e.g., bi-weekly, monthly).
