Critical Staffing Plan Changes Effective January 3, 2027

Purpose:

This article provides guidance for the All-Hours-Worked Critical Staffing Plan changes effective January 3, 2027. These changes include a further reduction to the premium amounts for All-Hours-Worked Critical Staffing Plans.

With this scheduled change, the final premium rates will have been reduced by a total of 75% from the original premium rates that were in effect in June 2026. The reduction applies to the premium amount only. It does not reduce an employee’s base hourly rate.


Effective Date:

The further rate reduction is effective January 3, 2027.

What is changing on January 3, 2027?

Effective January 3, 2027, the premium amounts for applicable All-Hours-Worked Critical Staffing Plans will be further reduced.

With this change, the final premium rates will reflect a total 75% reduction from the original premium rates in effect in June 2026.

The updated plan documents should be used for any applicable hours worked on or after January 3, 2027.

The updated plan documents will be posted to the Compensation Home Page by December 28, 2026.

When posted you will be able to refer to the updated plan documents for eligibility, plan details, applicable titles, premium amounts, and plan-specific requirements.

UKG pay codes:

Because UKG pay codes vary by plan and premium amount, users should refer to the applicable plan document for the correct Regular and Overtime pay codes. For hours worked on or after January 3, 2027, use the updated plan documents. (Available on December 28, 2026)


Important:

Always verify that the employee, title, department, and shift meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the applicable plan document before applying a UKG pay code.
