Vitalsource

Because it is deeply integrated into the Mizzou Store’s systems, VitalSource functions as both a stand-alone reading app, a textbook catalog, and a tool for enabling some aspects of AutoAccess for other publisher’s materials. VitalSource is an aggregator, rather than a publisher, so books from Elsevier, Macmillan, McGraw Hill, Pearson, Sage, Wiley and many other publishers are available through it.

How can I use Vitalsource in teaching?

  • Provide access to textbooks in a robust and easy-to-use reader online or offline.
  • Share annotations with students to help focus them on the most important material.
  • Analyze student reading patterns throughout the semester to help identify students who need encouragement or interventions.
