Canvas has two quiz engines, classic quizzes and new quizzes. Each uses a different type of banking system for its questions. Classic quizzes use question banks (for more on using question banks, see Using Canvas question banks), while New quizzes use item banks. The only way to convert a question bank to an item bank involves exporting the question bank out of Canvas and then re-importing it as an item bank.
