Getting Turnitin materials for academic integrity cases

When turning a paper over to your Academic Integrity Officer, it is helpful to provide them with the Submission ID and a PDF copy of the report. The two sections below cover how to do that in the Classic, Beta and Text-Only Views of the Turnitin Similarity Report interface.

How to create a PDF of a Similarity Report

Note: The Submission ID appears in the Document Details on the cover page of the report so you can get everything you need at one time.

1. Open a Turnitin Similarity Report.
2. If using the Classic or Beta View:
   1. Ensure the sidebar is not collapsed in Classic View. Select the dark gray gear icon in the right-hand sidebar to open it.
   2. Select the download icon (a down arrow with a stylized inbox beneath it) in the right-hand sidebar.
   3. Choose Similarity Report.
   4. Wait for the report to generate and download.
3. If using the Text-Only Report:
   1. Select the download button in the menu beneath the header but before the body of the report.
   2. Wait for the report to download.

Finding a Turnitin paper Submission ID

1. Open a Turnitin Similarity Report.
2. If using the Classic or Beta View
   1. Ensure the sidebar is not collapsed in Classic View. Select the dark gray gear icon in the right-hand sidebar to open it.
   2. Select the info icon (a circled letter “i”).  This will open a box with Submission Details.
   3. The fourth line of information is the Submission ID. Save that information.
3. If using the Text-Only Report, the ID near the top of the page is the Submission ID. Save that information.
