As of July 1, 2025, Zoom AI Companion 2.0 is now available, at no additional cost, for use within the UM System Zoom instance. These changes only apply to the regular UM System Zoom instance. UM System Protected does not have access to any AI features due to the additional security required on that domain.
New features of AI Companion 2.0 include:

Access AI Companion features as a side panel in the Zoom Workplace app. Users are no longer limited to using AI Companion during a meeting. Users can prepare for their workday, create agendas and summarize meetings using the available tools.

Greater context for your conversations. Users have the option to connect to additional data sources, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs. The additional context, along with AI Companion’s ability to remember previous conversations, turns the tool into a complete virtual assistant.
