Granting permissions for Zoom on Mac

Users running macOS 10.14 or higher will be prompted to allow Zoom to access the computer's microphone, camera, and other systems. Users with UM System controlled computers will need to work with their IT department for the proper authorization.

Prerequisites for granting permission on Mac

  • macOS 10.14 or higher
  • Operating System (OS) administrator access

How to grant or edit permissions

For users with OS administrator access, the following steps will guide you through granting Zoom permission to function properly on your device.

Note: You can also check Apple Support for steps on how to change your Mac’s privacy and security settings.

  1. In the top-left corner, click the Apple logo image of an Apple logo.
  2. Select System Settings.
  3. Choose Privacy & Security.
  4. Under Privacy, click the permission you need to change.
