Managed File Transfer - Vendor Initiated File Transfer

What Is It?

Vendor Initiated File Transfer is part of a Managed File Transfer (MFT) system used to securely exchange files between the University of Missouri System and vendors. For this type of transfer the vendor initiates connections to our MFT system.

  • Vendor Initiated File Transfer: SFTP/SSH clients can upload and download files to the MFT system from internal and external sources.  Vendor Initiated File Transfer allows vendors to pick up or drop of files without directly accessing internal systems. 

Additional Details:

  • Can I exchange files with Data Classification Level 3 and 4 (DCL3 and DCL4) data using this service?

Managed File Transfer service allows DCL3 data transfers.  DCL4 data transfers will require evaluation and approval.

Files will be retained for a maximum of 15 days before deletion.

This service should only be used for university business. Users are required to comply with all applicable policies, including but not limited to the University’s Acceptable Use Policy and Information Security Program.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no fee associated with the Managed File Transfer service.
