Information on Career Institute

Service Overview

The MU Health Care Career Institute, our workforce development program, started in the fall of 2015. The program creates career opportunities for MU Health Care employees by paying for their schooling and salaries while they study to advance their careers. Enrollment is offered periodically throughout the year to meet the needs of the organization. Recently we celebrated 34 individuals graduating from the MU Health Care Career Institute and, to-date, more than 100 individuals have graduated from the institute.

In addition to growing existing employees, the institute also partners with local organizations to train community members for experienced health care positions. Thanks to a collaboration with Columbia College and Columbia Public Schools, we were able to celebrate high school graduates becoming certified medical assistants through the Career Institute.
