20 Week No Pay Notifications

About 20 Week No Pay Notifications

Description

As a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the University of Missouri (UM System) monitors all paid appointments that have not had pay >= 20 weeks.    This is tracked by employee record rather than as a composite of all appointments for a specific employee.   MU Health Care, as a courtesy, notify leaders if they have an employee who has >=20 weeks with no pay on a specific appointment.

Once the individual reaches 26 weeks they are then subject to auto-termination of the appointment.    UM System schedules these auto-terminations at the end of the month, usually the last Friday.

To prevent an auto-termination, departments are asked to schedule the employee to work so that they receive pay on the specified appointment before 26 weeks with no pay is reached.
