Activating Your SnapGene Account

1. You will receive a confirmation email from SnapGene:

2. From here you will need to go into Software Center and download SnapGene by clicking on the following icon.

3. When you launch SnapGene for the first time it will be in viewer mode, and you will need to activate it:

4. You will be prompted to select your activation method. Here you will select email sign in:

5. You will be prompted to sign in. Instead, click the No account, create one link below. If you already have an account, you could be prompted to enter a one-time code:

6. You will need to complete the form below to create a profile. Click “Get Started” once finished:

7. If you see the following screen below you are all set to start using the registered version of SnapGene:

One-Time Code Steps

With the recent transition to a new licensing model, some SnapGene users may encounter issues when attempting to sign into their accounts. To resolve these sign-in problems, users are advised to follow a streamlined password reset process:

  1. Go to SnapGene's website: https://www.snapgene.com/
  2. Click the "Sign In" button located in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your registered email address associated with your SnapGene account and click "Continue".
  4. When prompted for a password, select the “Sign in with one-time code” option (the second choice on the screen).

This method bypasses traditional password entry and allows users to authenticate securely using a temporary code sent to their email. It’s a quick and effective workaround for login difficulties during the licensing update period.
