How do I create a network location to a Research Data Ecosystem (RDE) lab share in Windows?
Answer
1. Open Windows Explorer by pressing Windows + E keys simultaneously.
2. Right click This PC in left pane. Click Add a network location.
3. "Welcome to the Add Network Location Wizard" window is displayed. Click Next.
4. Click "Choose a custom network location". Click Next
5. Type the path name of the network location to add.
Example: \\umad.umsystem.edu\rde\trumant-lab
Click Next.
6. Type a name for the network location
Example:trumant-lab
Click Next.
7. Complete add network location. Click Finish.
8. New network location is now listed in File Explorer This PC.
