How do I map a Research Data Ecosystem (RDE) lab share in Windows?

 

Answer

Note: Computer must be connected to the campus networks to access shares. 
           If you are not on the campus network, please connect to the VPN:

1. Open File Explorer by pressing Windows + E keys simultaneously.

2. Right click This PC in left pane. Click Map network drive... in pop-up window.

3. In Map Network Drive window:

a. Select appropriate drive letter. 

b. Type in Folder name.

Example Folder: \\umad.umsystem.edu\rde\trumant-lab

c. Check Reconnect at sign-in

d. Click on Finish.

4. File explorer window will pop-up with contents of new network drive.
