How To: Use Different Microsoft Accounts with Multiple Websites

Question

How does someone log in to websites with different Microsoft accounts?

Answer

The following steps allow you to use multiple Microsoft accounts even when a website or service does not normally prompt you to select a particular Microsoft account upon login.

  1. Go to https://office.com/login?es=Click&ru=%2F%3Ffrom%3DPortalHome%26acctsw%3D1&prompt=select_account.
  2. If you are "Signed in" to the desired Microsoft account, click the three vertical dots beside it and choose "Sign out".
  3. Sign in to the desired Microsoft account.
  4. Go to the website/service you are wanting to use (i.e. by using a bookmark) and then login to it using the desired Microsoft account.

As an alternative to the above:

  • If using Firefox, use the Container Tab feature to keep your accounts separated.
  • Otherwise, use different Microsoft accounts from different web browsers (e.g. one in Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari).
