How do I change my preferred name?

For Employees:

Contact HR to request your preferred name be added to your Employee account.

For Students:

Go to myZou to add a preferred name to your Student account.

  1. Open myZouhttps://myzou.missouri.edu/
  2. Choose Personal Information tile
  3. Choose Names
  4. Choose Add a new name
  5. Fill out the set of blanks that appear, ensuring you select 'Chosen/Preferred' as the Name Type
  6. Click Save and your preferred name will now be set.

If you are both an employee and a student we recommend adding the preferred name to both accounts to avoid issues.
