Students can use Draft Coach for help identifying issues with grammar and missing citations, and to run Turnitin Similarity Checks on their papers prior to turning them in. 

Using Draft Coach

Draft Coach is available to users on all University of Missouri campuses who do not have a health- or hospital- related primary email address. This limitation is intended to prevent Turnitin/Draft Coach from inadvertently ingesting HIPAA-protected information.

Draft Coach is accessible to users only through the online version of Word in Office 365 with a University of Missouri log in.

If you are unable to access Draft Coach, please contact Missouri Online at teachingtools@umsystem.edu.

How to Access Draft Coach

  1. Log into Office 365 and open a Word document. 
  2. Select Turnitin. Note that Turnitin may not appear for a few seconds after the document is opened.
  3. Wait for the Draft Coach link to appear, then select Draft Coach.
  4. The tool will appear as a side bar to the document.
