What is Globus?
Globus is a tool used to transfer data between Globus endpoints and your computer. Globus greatly simplifies moving large quantities of data between institutions. Many National Labs and Universities maintain Globus endpoints.
Globus First Time Setup
The first time you use Globus you need to configure your account. Begin by going to the Globus login. You will be asked to select your insitution from a list of participating institutions.

Hit the "Continue" button and you will be redirected to the S&T SSO page. Log in with your username and password.
In the next screen, select continue.

Then, verify that you will be using Globus for non-profit research and check that you have read the terms. If Globus asks for account permissions, click "Allow".
Adding a Collection
After your account is configured, you can add a collection to it. The following example shows how to add the Mill, but you can add any resource you have permission to access.
Begin by going to the file manager on the side bar.

Click into the collection search bar. The collection that corresponds to your home directory on the Mill is "Missouri S&T Mill Directories". Click on that directory to access it.

After you have added the collection, you should see your home directory. You can select a file, which will bring up a context menu on the right where you can perform actions on the file like downloading it or sending it to another globus endpoint.
