What is the Self Care Portal?

Answer

The Self Care Portal is a web app that allows you change advanced settings for your Cisco VoIP phone in an easy-to-use interface.

Sign In to the Self Care Portal

  1. If your computer is off-campus, make a VPN connection.

  2. Go to http://ucphone.missouri.edu.

  3. For Username type your university username.

  4. For Password type your university password.

  5. Click Sign In.

Single Number Reach

Single Number Reach allows you to answer incoming calls via your desk phone or your mobile device. When you receive a call on your desk phone, your mobile device will also ring.

  1. On the My Phones tab, scroll down to the Additional Phones section.

  2. Click the Add icon.

  3. Enter the phone number you would like to add, such as a mobile device.

  4. Check the Enable Single Number Reach box.

  5. Select Create a Schedule for this Assignment. The default is to Ring all the time. Give the schedule a name, and update the schedule.

  6. Click Save.

Note: To enable the ability to transfer active calls from your Cisco IP Phone to your mobile device, select Enable Move to Mobile and click Save.

Personal Speed Dial Numbers

Speed dial numbers allow you to quickly dial a number (that you dial frequently) from your desk phone using one or two digits.

  1. Under Phones, Phone Settings, select Speed Dial Numbers.

  2. Click on + Add New Speed Dial.

  3. For Number/URI: enter the number you would normally dial.

  4. For Label (Description): enter a name associated with the number.

  5. For Speed Dial: enter a number between 1 and 99.

  6. Click Save.

  • If there are empty line buttons on your desk phone, the new speed dial will be added to one of them.
  • If there are no empty line buttons, you can still use the speed dial numbers by dialing the number and then pressing the Speed Dial softkey.

Ring settings

  1. Under PhonesPhone Settings, select Ring Settings.

  2. For each phone line, click the down arrow next to When I'm on a call and When I'm not on a call.

  3. Select one of the following options:

  • Default
  • Do Nothing
  • Flash Only
  • Ring Once
  • Ring
  • Beep Only
  1. Click Save.

Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb is used to silence the ringer on your phone and on Jabber for incoming calls. This feature can only be accessed from the Self Care Portal or Jabber.

To activate or deactivate Do Not Disturb:

  1. Navigate to IM & Availability.

  2. Check or uncheck the checkbox next to Turn On my Do Not Disturb.

  3. Click Save.

Voicemail Notifications

  1. Under PhonesPhone Settings, select Voicemail Notification Settings.

  2. Select the settings for how you want to be notified of new voicemail messages. By default, no settings are selected.

  3. Click Save.

Phone Services PIN

The Phone Services PIN is used for Extension Mobility, Self-Provisioning and other IP Phone Services. If you don't use these services, you do not need to manage a PIN.

Note: The Phone Services PIN is a different PIN from your voicemail PIN.

  1. Under General Settings, enter a New Phone PIN.

  • The new PIN must be between 4 and 128 numbers long.
  • The PIN can only contain numbers, it cannot contain spaces, letters or special characters.
  1. Confirm the PIN.

  2. Click Save.

Call Forwarding

By default, call forwarding is set up to go to voicemail, when call forwarding is enabled.

To change the default settings:

  1. Under the Phones tab, select Call Forwarding.

  2. To forward calls to a different destination, place a checkmark next to the option, then select the down arrow beside Voicemail.

  3. Select Add a New Number.

  4. Enter the phone number.

  5. Click Save.

Advanced Calling Rules

To set more specific call forwarding rules, deselect Forward all calls to, then click the down arrow next to Advanced calling rules.

Options are available for internal and external calls, when the line is busy or there is no answer.
