Question
How do I transfer a call? How do I use three-way conference call on University Caller ID Phone?
Answer
These two features are very similar; the same dialing procedures are used in both cases. The only difference is whether or not you decide to stay on the line after you connect your caller with a third party.
- Ask the caller to hold the line.
- Press the Link button.
- Listen for new dial tone.
- Dial the number you wish to transfer the caller to.
Note: If you want to transfer a caller to a long-distance number, keep in mind that you will continue to pay the toll charges even if you let yourself out of the call.
- When third party answers, you may conduct a private conversation prior to connected the original caller.
- Press the Link button. All three parties are now connected.
- If you do not wish to conduct a three-way conference call, let yourself out of the call by pressing the Release key.
Note: If the line is busy, there is no answer, or it goes to voice mail, press the Link button twice slowly to reconnect to your original caller.
