How to install a Staff Printer via Print installer in software center

Question

How do I install a Staff Printer via Print installer in software center?

Answer

1. Open the Software Center icon on your Desktop.

2. Choose the Print Smart – Printer Installer in the Applications section.

3. Click on the Install button.

4. After PrintSmart is installed, a new window with a drop-down menu labeled Printer: will appear.

5. Click the drop-down menu and scroll through the list until you find the printer you want. The printer are named based on the building and room number, in this example we are using Student Success Center room M110, so we will choose the SSC_M110_Printer_1.

6. Once you have selected the correct printer, click the Install button.

7. The printer will take a few minutes to install, when it is finished you will get a message stating that it has been installed.

8. The printer installer will still be open, if you are done installing printers click the Finished button.

9. Restart Computer

10. The first time you print to a Print Smart printer, it will prompt for your username and password (see image on page 2). DO NOT enter the @umsystem.edu part, just your username. It will not prompt you again for subsequent print jobs.
