How To: Download to Local Device via web Browser in Globus.

Question

How do I download to a local or network device from a folder in Globus via web browser?

 

Answer

* Note:   Subsequent downloads to this device will skip steps 2 and 3.

1. In File Manager:

a. Navigate to Collection and Path where target file or folder for Download.

b. Click on the target file or folder you wish to download, it will be highlighted and checked.

c. Click on Download.  

* Proceed to Step 4. if downloaded to this device previously.

2. Click on your email address to select your identity to use. *

 

Identity Required for additional consent

 

 

 

3. Click on Allow to allow Globus to download and manage your data. *

 

Globus web app allow data access to path via HTTPS protocol

 

 

 

4. A new tab window is opened in your browser and the browser download pop-up window is displayed with downloaded filename.

5. The new tab window can be closed and the downloaded file is now in your Downloads folder.
