In order to gain access to MU Connect, full-time and student staff need to submit a security request. Roles and access to student data are assigned on the basis of educational need-to-know. Once the security request form is processed by myZou and shared with the MU Connect team, roles are assigned to the individual to access MU Connect and student data.
Average turnaround time for completed (Human Resource paperwork, confidentiality agreements, etc.) requests is 3-5 business days. During the start of the semester and academic year, due to the high volume of requests, response times may be longer. If you have questions about your request, please contact myZou@missouri.edu.
Staff Security Request
- Ensure a FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy) score is on file. To take the FERPA Quiz, go to: https://canvas.umsystem.edu/ (the FERPA quiz is listed as a course).
- Please note: Once an individual has completed the training with a passing score (80% is needed), the quiz is closed and unable to be reopened.
- For questions regarding the FERPA training, please email myZou@missouri.edu.
- Complete a Security Request Form (found on the Registrar's website)
- Form must be printed, completed, and signed (requires physical signatures, not electronic)
- Ensure signatures are are completed - requestor, Department Chair/Head, Assoc/Asst Dean or Dean
- Scan and email form(s) to myZou@missouri.edu.
- Complete the New User Request for MU Connect form (click Notification of New User)
Undergraduate Student Security Request
- Ensure the student has an active HR appointment before receiving access to MU Connect.

- Student must complete and sign the Agreement by Student Employee for Confidential Information (from the Registrar's website).
- Complete a Security Request Form (found on the Registrar's website)
- Form must be printed, completed, and signed (requires physical signatures, not electronic)
- Ensure signatures are are completed - requestor, Department Chair/Head, Assoc/Asst Dean or Dean
- The student's supervisor should email the completed forms to myZou@missouri.edu
- Complete the New User Request for MU Connect form (click Notification of New User)
Removing Full-Time and Student Staff from MU Connect
To remove a user from the MU Connect system, service(s) and/or kiosk(s) (from their current role or if they leave the university), please email muconnectsupport@missouri.edu and copy myZou@missouri.edu. Include the following information:
- the individual's name
- ID number
- what they need to be removed from (system, service(s), kiosk(s))
