Setting up your profile allows students to find and connect with you easily. These settings may be edited at any time and should be reviewed periodically.
Edit Profile

Go to muconnect.missouri.edu and click on the "Log In" button.

Click the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

Click your name to open your profile.

Click Edit Profile.
Profile Settings
- Photo: While student photos are uploaded automatically from myZou, Faculty and Staff photos are not. It is recommended to upload a photo to your profile to help students put a face with your name (or help find you if you've already established a connection). Please note: If you are a staff member and a current student, your photo will be automatically uploaded at the beginning of the next semester.
- Click on "Upload Photo."
- Click on "Browse" to locate the image in your computer files.
- Click on "Upload Now."
- Preferred Login Page: You can choose to keep your login page as the default home page or you can update this to one of the other options. Choosing another option brings you to that page when you log into MU Connect, allowing you to bypass the home page and go directly to your most-used option.
- In the Share Links section, you will find two direct links unique to you. Check the boxes if you want to make these links available on your service page for other staff to copy.
- TIP: You can also copy the links using the "Copy URL to clipboard" and add them to your email signature block and other relevant places to make it easier for students to schedule appointments and view your information.
- Checking “Link to schedule an appointment with me” will allow other staff to share a link with students that will take them directly to your appointment scheduling page.
- Checking “Link to view my profile” will allow other staff to share a link with students that will take them directly to your profile, which includes your general overview and biography.
Contact Information
Your Username and Institutional Email are imported from myZou. If you notice an issue, please contact muconnectsupport@missouri.edu. While you're able to add an alternate email address, due to FERPA policies, you are not permitted to add an email address outside of the UM system.
- Ensure your phone number is set as your university contact number. If you are a staff member and current MU student, your personal phone number from myZou will be imported as your contact phone number. Update as necessary.
- Enter an MU approved cell phone number as appropriate (or leave blank).
- Ensure your Time Zone is correct. Update as necessary.
About
Adding details about your role, interests, and expertise (e.g., Economics, Financial Aid, Undergraduate Research) makes it easier for students to learn more about you and how you can support their journey at Mizzou.

Title - enter your title as you would like it to appear to students.

My Biography - enter as much detail as you would like to share with students to let them know who you are.

General Overview - enter details to let students know why they might meet with you, including topics (picking classes, involvement opportunities, career advice, etc.), tasks to complete (registering for classes, graduation forms, etc.), and more. You can also add information about which students you serve (majors with last name of A - D, etc.)
Save Changes
Click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the page when you're finished. You will need to do this every time you make a change to your profile settings.
