Canceling or Rescheduling Appointments

This article explains how to cancel or reschedule student appointments in MU Connect, noting that Outlook only reflects accepted/declined invites and syncs up to 84 days in advance. To make changes, users must manage appointments directly in MU Connect by canceling with a message or editing to reschedule.

Body

When an appointment is scheduled by or with a student, the invitation can be viewed within Outlook and MU Connect.  When you accept or decline that appointment email in Outlook, based on your actions, it will either show up on your Outlook calendar (accept) or it won't show up on your Outlook calendar (decline).  The purpose of the courtesy email is a one way communication from MU Connect to Outlook to let you know that someone wants to meet with you. 

NOTE: the calendar in MU Connect can only sync with Outlook for a maximum of 84 days in advance. If you're scheduling 85 or more days in advance, you'll need to review your availability manually.

To cancel or reschedule the appointment, you'll need to go to MU Connect.

  1. Click the menu icon and click Appointments
  2. Find the appointment you'd like to cancel or reschedule

To cancel the appointment:

  • Hover over the calendar icon next to the student's name and click Cancel in the dialog box that appears
  • Include a message to explain why you need to cancel
  • Click Submit

To reschedule the appointment:

  • Hover over the calendar icon next to the student's name and click Edit
  • Change the date and time accordingly
  • Click Submit
