Understanding Turnitin and accessibility

Body

Most of Turnitin is ADA compliant, but the following tools may cause problems for some users:

  1. QuickMarks—use inline comments or general summary comments instead for users with visual impairments.
  2. Audio Comments—use general summary comments for users with hearing impairments.
  3. Some users may find printing to PDF (using the printer icon in the Turnitin Document viewer) provides a more accessible experience.

The ACT Center will be conducting in-depth analysis and may have additional recommendations in the near future.
