Student Access to Software

Missouri S&T uses AppsAnywhere as our primary delivery method for software to the campus community. This includes a wide range of software available to campus machines as well as personally owned, bring your own devices (BYOD). Additionally, for machines that cannot natively run our packaged Windows applications from AppsAnywhere, we offer a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to provide access to software.

For information on how to utilize our software delivery platforms, please review the information below.

AppsAnywhere

Information Technology (IT) has packaged over 500 applications within AppsAnywhere, with over 340 being available to BYOD Windows devices. Updates to the catalog are delivered regularly including new software and updated versions. Information on how use AppsAnywhere can be found here:

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

IT also offers Virtual Desktops (VDI) for student access to software if your machine cannot run the software required due to licensing, hardware or operating system incompatibilities. This is especially helpful for students who have Apple Computers who need access to software that is not otherwise available on their platform.  Information on connecting to the VDI can be found here:

Once connected, the majority of the software can be found via AppsAnywhere in the VDI instance following the instructions, for AppsAnywhere, above.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

The VPN is required to access the VDI when not on the campus network. Please make sure you have the VPN installed and connected before you access the VDI or AppsAnywhere.  Information on connecting to the VPN can be found here:
