How to connect your device to the Eduroam network.
Eduroam is a way for educational faculty, staff, and students to connect to the Wi-Fi in participating educational organizations in an institution other than their own. For more information on the Eduroam initiative visit https://www.eduroam.org.
Multiple failed attempts may cause your device to be temporarily blocked for up to 15 minutes.
Configure Eduroam Wireless

Android Phone
Windows 11
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right corner in the system bar.
- Find and select eduroam in the listed networks.

- Click Connect.
- You will get a pop up asking for your username and password.
- Enter your username@umsystem.edu and your university password.

- It will ask you to trust the eduroam certificate to connect.
- Click Connect.

- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right of the system bar.
- Click on Network & Internet settings at the bottom of the listed window.
- On the left-hand side column, click Wi-Fi.
- Find and select Manage known networks.
- Select the eduroam in the list of networks.
- Click Forget that appears on the right-hand side of the selected network.
- Follow the "Windows 11" steps above to try again.
Mac
- From the desktop, click on the Wi-Fi icon on the top-right menu bar.
- Find and select eduroam in the listed networks.

- You will get a pop up asking for your username and password.
- Enter your username@umsystem.edu and your university password.
- Click Join.

- It will ask you to trust the eduroam InCommon Server CA certificate to connect.
- Click Continue.

- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network
- Click the Wi-Fi icon at the top right of the screen.
- Find and select Open Network Preferences... at the bottom of the listed items.
- Select the Advanced... button at the bottom right of the window.
- Find and select eduroam in the Preferred Networks: field.
- When MST has been selected, click the Minus button on the left-hand side under the Preferred Networks: field.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
- Follow the "Mac" steps above to try again.
Android Phone
- Select the Wi-Fi icon on the settings of your phone or at the top menu bar.
- Find and select eduroam in the listed networks.
- Under CA certificate, select Do not validate. Ignor this step if you do not have it in your Android OS version.
- In the Identity field, enter your username@umsystem.edu.
- Leave the Anonymous field blank.
- In the Password field enter your university password.
- Click Connect.

- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network
- Go to the Wi-Fi settings in the settings app or at the top menu bar.
- Click on the settings gear next to eduroam in the listed networks.
- Click Forget at the top of the screen.
- Follow the "Android Phone" steps above to try again.
iPhone
- Find and go to the Settings application.
- Select Wi-Fi in the listed settings options on the screen.
- Find and select eduroam in the list of Wi-Fi networks.
- The next screen will ask you to log in, enter your username@umsystem.edu and your university password.

- Select Join at the top right of the screen.
- It will ask you to trust the network, select Trust at the top right of the screen.

- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network
- Go to the Settings application.
- Select Wi-Fi in the listed settings.
- Find and select the eduroam from the listed networks at the top of your screen.
- Click on Forget This Network at the top of the screen.
- Follow the "iPhone" steps above to try again.
