The S&T Safe panic button allows users to silently contact University Police in case of an emergency directly from a computer. This application is accessible on any university managed computer located in the icon tray.
Windows computers have the icon tray located in the lower right hand corner

Click the ^ button to show hidden icons.

Apple computers have the icons located in the upper right hand corner.

Locate the green icon labeled “S&T SAFE: Connected”. Alternatively, if the application is disconnected, the icon will be red with the name “S&T SAFE: Disconnected”.
To activate S&T SAFE Panic, quickly click the green icon three times. A panic form will appear as shown below. Clicking “Send Alert” button will activate the alert and notify University Police.

If it is safe to do so, complete the form and include any additional information that may be helpful for law enforcement. The “Location” and “Name” field are not required. If time is of the essence, click "Send Alert" and University Police will immediately be informed. The default option is “Send Police” and additional options can be selected from the drop down menu. Clicking "Send Alert" will notify Police with the information from the form and close the pop-up.

Once you select "Send Alert," the pop-up screen will update to show the panic button initiated. The pop-up can be closed by clicking on "Close Window" or the "X" in the upper right hand corner. University Police will respond to the alert in the appropriate manner.

If you have opened the form but do not need to send an alert, click “Cancel” or the “X” to close out of the form. Either option will close the panic alert without notifying University Police.
