How to Install GraphPad on a Shared Device

This guide explains how to activate GraphPad Prism on a shared device using a Machine Access Token. A Software Administrator will provide the Access Token, and IT Pro Administrator rights are required to complete the setup.

This guide outlines the process for activating GraphPad Prism on a shared device using a Machine Access Token. A Software Administrator will provide the required Access Token during the activation process. Please note that IT Pro Administrator rights are necessary to complete the setup and enable Prism for shared device use.

This article walks you through the full workflow - from submitting the initial request to completing activation on the device - so you know what to expect at each step.

1. The IT Pro will install GraphPad Viewer on the designated computer.
2. Once GraphPad Viewer is installed, the IT Pro should find the Machine Fingerprint by using the "Activate with a Machine Access Token" method within the application: 
3. The IT Pro will then copy the Machine Fingerprint and begin submitting your TDX request using the “Request/Renew Shared Device License” GraphPad form and paste it into the TDX ticket, so an Access Token can be generated. 

1. Record the request in the GraphPad tracking spreadsheet.
2. Log into the GraphPad portal: My Account.
3. Navigate to "Manage Seats”

4. Select "Machine Tokens”

5. Click the "Add" button.

6. In the dialog, enter the computer name (as referenced in the TDX) into the name field, and paste the Machine Fingerprint provided by the IT Pro into the “Machine-fingerprint from application” field.
7. Click “Create Token.”
8. Copy the generated Access Token to your clipboard and paste it into the TDX ticket for the IT Pro to copy.
   •  Please note that the access token is only valid for 6 hours.

 

9. The IT Pro will then paste the Access Token into the activation dialog from Step 3 and click "Continue."

• If the subscription has access to Prism Cloud, users will still be able to log into their Prism Cloud accounts separately on this computer without impacting the license activation.
